This Is Some Bull!!

  Hello all well here's the story of the bullcrap that's going on this week. First there is a new city law about using 55-gallon trash cans for recycle products. Normally in New York for recycling people would put their recycling trash in a plastic bag and set it out for garbage pick-up. But now our mayor needs money for the city. So, we have a new thing that you must put your recycling garbage in a 55-gallon bag with a lid on it. If don't do it you are fined $55 for the first time and $100 for the second time. That's crazy right. Our mayors logic is to control the rat population. My thinking is no matter what you do the rats were here before us and will be here after us. They always win. I myself will not be giving the city $55 for a trash can. What I will do is use some of my old trash cans that serve the same purpose to hell with NYC. They will try and fine you on everything next it will be the air we breathe or the sidewalks we walk on. I say it's already too expensive and now the city is just nickel and diming us to death.

Next Problem I got a buyer for my house first my real estate agent says he wants my rental house for the price I wanted. I run to my real estate lawyer and fill in some paperwork to start the process rolling. Then my real estate agent calls me back and says the buyers doesn't want the house. I say find next victim. Then a day or two goes by and the real estate calls me up and says the same buyer wants the house now. I told her if he changes his mind again, I don't want him has a buyer. He's not going to make me crazy with this back-and-forth stuff He wants the house one minute and not the next. I don't have time or patience for this kinda game.

It's getting cold in New York I like the cold but hate the part where it starts to get cold. So how has your week been?

Feeling Good!!

  Hello all well here's the story for the week, I feel good today and let me tell you why. First I found a buyer for my rental house. It's just the beginning stages and it could fall through but I have hope. My sprit was telling this the right price to sell it for.  So, fingers cross that things will work out. Can I tell you I get giddy when it involves money. (that's between you and me, Ok?) 

Also, my aunt who is having a family problem is finally let me help her with it after dozens of times refusing my help. Now she is asking for it which I don't mind she needs the help, and I enjoy helping people when I can and if I can.

The weather in New York has been so nice. in the (60's & 70's) I have been walking in the park and enjoying it. Before the horrible New York winters get here. Life is good right now and I am trying to take advantage of every blessing that I can get my hands on and be grateful for it.

Really??

  Hello all well here's the story for the week Really!! My old real estate agent who listed my house last a visited me last week. To the house I currently live in. It was unexpected to say the least. He rang the bell, and I was surprised to see him because normally I would meet him at the house I was selling. He never came to my personal residence before which pissed me off  has well as shocked me. I never have or will invite real estate agents to my personal home. I don't want them to know where I live. That way they won't do what this real estate agent did and ring my doorbell uninvited. When I asked him why he was here. He told me he been calling me and wanted to know if he had the right number. I thought really my answering machine told you that you had the right number. I never returned the real estate agent's call because I was going with someone new when I relisted the house. Which I did. But the nerve of him coming to my place my residence without an invitation to see if he could get me to relist with him was a hell of a lot of nerve on his part. Besides that, he had the listing of my house for 6 months and still no buyers. It was time to give someone else a chance to sell it.

It's October and the weather in New York is beautiful. I've been walking and cleaning out my house.  I have to get Stanley Steamer to clean my carpets but for what I want they are asking $265 dollars. Not sure I want to pay that much for carpet cleaning even though the carpet would probably look and smell better. Then it does already. Have you used Stanley Carpet Cleaner what were your thoughts about them?

Family Visit

  Hello all well here's the story for the week. I am tired. I been cleaning since last Thursday. I kid you not. My mother came to visit me, and my house needed the cleaning. She stayed for a couple of days, and we visited family in the area. While she was here and shopped for the things she thought I needed for the house. Guess who paid for all that shopping? So, I have been running since last Thursday and today I finally get a break. I am glad she came nothing like seeing family especially if you haven't seen them in a long time. 

It's fall and cold in New York it's time to start thinking about getting ready for the upcoming holidays.  What I plan on doing is having a nice quite holiday like always. So far nothing special just been interviewing real estate agents. So I can finally sell my house and get on with my life. I interviewed 4 so far and they pretty much say the same things in different ways. One agent wanted to give me a class lesson on what she could do for me. When I asked her questions, she always said she's get to it and kept on talking. I was not feeling her at all. Interviewing real estate agents is not an easy thing.

I am on the no spending kick again in my mind I always feel I don't have enough money for retirement. Since I have medical bills that thank god. I have insurance for, but still, you never know a medical emergency can wipe a retirement saving out. That's what I am afraid of. Other then that. Things have been good thank god.

Things Have Changed

  Hello all well here's the story for the week. Yard sales and vendor events are not like they use to be. Meaning I went to 2 community yard sales yesterday and they both were selling junk for high prices. One community that was having yard sales was in a very nice arear and their yard sales prices reflected it. You would buy a used blender for $50 bucks? or a picture frame for $35 used did I mention. The other community yard sale had lower prices but still junk that you would find out of home goods store. As far as the street fairs they have more food vendors and craft tables that I can even mention.

I interviewed real estate agents for the house I'm trying to sell. Well, I started interviewing. So far so good hopefully I can get an agent by the end of the month. Since I want my rental house to be sold by the first of the year, because I refuse to pay any more property taxes on an empty house that I can't rent.

Family

  Hello all well here's the story for the week. I went on a mini vacation first to Atlantic city and then to Cape May all while visiting family. Can I say we had nice days to do things in. Atlantic City well Hard Rock Hotel was nice, but they got me. Not money wise but food wise. I got a coupon for a free buffet on Tuesday.  Since the buffet at Hard Rock hotel and casino is $43.00 per person. That coupon would come in handy but the buffet closes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So why send me a coupon that states I can eat there on Tuesday? Also, you have to spend at least $5 gambling or no drinks. So free drinks are out. Besides all the room fees and charges. A complimentary room is really just a lower price room in my mind. I stayed 3 nights and one of the nights was completely free no fees nothing because I had enough comps to cover it. Overall, the 3 nights with one being completely free cost me $70 bucks not too bad. And I won some money enough to cover my expenses and then some.

Cape May was a cute town at the end of Jersey. Cute little shops and things. It mainly a weekend getaway with beautiful sandy beaches and over price stores and restaurants. It was nice spending time with family there. It was only a day trip but as long as you spend it with family who cares right.

Suprised!

 Hello Everyone, well here's the story for the week. I got a Suprise yesterday in the form of a $657.00 energy bill. I'm on the budget plan when it comes to my energy bill. So, every month I know what my bill will be which is about $240 a month. I know expensive right. Anyway, I get this extra energy bill sating that they under charged me on my level billing plan and since they under charged me I now owe them $657.00 for their error. What if I don't have that kind of extra money for them and also why should I have to pay for their error. When I got this bill, this depressed me for the rest of the day. I hate paying bills!

I am trying to save money for my vacation next year as well as downsizing my place. Every have just too much stuff that just sits around collecting dust? I got a place that will take all your junk no questions asked and I've been going there ever week giving them all my unwanted stuff. They are a god send because I have a lot of stuff to get rid of.

When did tires get so expensive? had two tires fixed at my gas station they charged me $400 for two new tires. I use to buy tires at Sears for $79 bucks back in the day, What happened?

Nothing Special

Hello all well here's the story for the week. Nothing special but it's pouring for me right now when it comes to repairs. My outside sidewalk needs fixing. the rubber to seal my refrigerator is broke and I might need a new washing machine. Can you say expensive? Good news I won some money at the casino yesterday which might cover some of the repairs I needs. Well, the little repairs that is.

Shocked!!!

 Hello all well here's the story for the week. I am pissed off.  Because I got screwed royally. Here's why. I collect my pension from working for the city for many years this month. Mind you I have been keeping tabs on what I would get when I did start collecting my pension. So, when the pension letter came saying  I would actually get $200 less than  what they said previously.  I was pissed and shocked at the same time. Thank God I wasn't really counting on that money to live on.  If I did, I would be in real trouble. It's not that I am not grateful for the money. I am but the amount I will be getting monthly for working and taking bull-sh*t all those years working for the city is not even enough to live on in New York. Let alone any other place. Thank God I had the fore site to save money when I started working. if I didn't, I would be in real trouble. Nobody can live on the pension amount I will be getting it's under $1000 a month.

Here's something else I got a contractor to do some work I needed he quoted me $10,000 for the work. I wanted done. I told him really that much. he said yes. Then he started telling me how he can get the supplies he needed to do the job for free. So, what's would the $10,000 he quoted before then his personal pockets??  Now. I have to get 2 to 3 more estimated from other contractors to see what the real going price is for the work I need done. This week was not a good week for me what about you? 

After all this I might have to go back to work just to get my bills paid. Part-time of course

Good Times

 Hello all well here's the story for the week. I finally got a settlement check that I had been waiting on for 4 years. It was nice to finally get it also my pension from working for the city will be here in August so that's nice since I have been waiting 8 years for that. I figure I could splurge a little. So I did go to Atlantic City spend about $1000 for 4 days. I mostly went for the beach. I did my nails but never again doing nails cost too much. $40 dollars a pop too rich for my blood. I mostly saved the rest.

Let me tell you what happen yesterday.  I got a phone call from a women saying she lived in the neighborhood of my rental home and if I was rented it. Since it sits empty right now. The women said she had a family interested in renting it. So I said I would rent it for $3000. I was just throwing out a crazy number knowing she would say for  get it because to me that's crazy to rent something so high. But she said the family can pay 2800 a month. I was shocked people are paying so much to rent places. So, I am seeing the family soon for an interview. Nothing is set. Not sure if I want to rent it or wait and sell  at the end of the year. I could use the rental money to pay some of the rental home bills that I have to pay out of pocket. Also, if I rent it I would have to get a new microwave and washing machine the ones in the rental home is broke. Which means more money out of my pocket.

Happy July

  Hello all Happy July! Well, here's the story for the week. Bills and more bills!! Why is it the summer months you get the most bills. Can anyone explain that to me please.  As you know for my birthday I went to Atlantic City to gamble dinking and have fun. The gambling and drinking were ok but the fun not so much. When I made my hotel reservation the women told me that I had complimentary comedy tickets for Mondy night show. When I went to get the tickets, they weren't there. No free show tickets and the normal price was $35 dollars a person. I passed on that. The gambling was lousy no real big money to be made and the drinks were more fruit juice then liquor. But I did go to the beach which was a plus I love the beach not the sand so much. 

But coming home I looked forward to my settlement check that came before I  left  for my mini vacation. It was four years in the making and let's say it made my gambling money that I spent less a problem. The money was put in a Cd anyway to gain some interest and to see what I want to do with it later on. Do you know how many years it takes to get money from a lawsuit a long darn time. Plus, if lawyers are involved, they take a 1/3 of the settlement which is a lot.  

Now my next project is to get my second home sold and out of my hands . I am getting tired of doing yard work and clean up just to make the place look nice .Did I mention the bills that come with the place  that I have to pay because I can't rent it out.

A.C. & Drinking

 

Hello all well here's the story so far. It's my birthday month and I am going to spend it  by going to Atlantic City for the weekend . If you don't know that a bunch of hotels that have casinos in them on the water. So you can gamble or go to the beach or just enjoy the boardwalk with games and entertainment. Also I am going to try getting drunk off margaritas not what I normally drink but what the heck let's try something different this year.

 When it rains it pours I told you about all the bills that came in for June. I spend a lot of money on bills this month. I mean over $5,000 with property taxes, Con Edison ,home insurance  plus extra stuff. anyway June was expensive. While I was crying about my bills extra money that I hadn't expected started coming in. Which was a good thing so out went money for bills and in came extra money the cover the bills  and to use for my weekend trip-Yea!

Also, why did my Con Edison company try to bill me twice. The first bill for June I paid then they sent a second bill trying to say I didn't pay the first one. Which I called and now they owe me a credit. I always say check your bills because these service companies are greedy and they will rip you off if you let them.

Too Much Money!!!

 Hello, Happy June. Well here's my story so far. Is June the Let's Spend More Money Month? It seems that I have spent more money in the month of June so far then I have in the previous months. First birthday my mothers and some other peoples are in June that means gifts. Then my gardener hit me with a bill.   Also insurance for my house came in along with the inspection bill for my car. Let's not forget my water bill came in which I am billed every three months for. You get my point. I have bills that just seem to pop out of nowhere in June. What about you?

Don't get me wrong I love June it's my birthday month and this year I can collect my pension from my job that I had been away from for quite some time.  I had  put in the years already and just froze my pension when I left.  The pension won't be much, but I am still grateful for it.   I am still in the process of getting my second home to be placed back on the market I can't wait. You know when it's time to really get rid of something well it's really time to get rid of my second home. It's just sitting there not making me any money and I am paying for it just to sit there. Crazy right? 

          Well, that's enough ranting and raving for me so how has your June been?

It Takes Time..

  Hello all  here's the story for the week. You need patience for things. Something I really don't have. My life has always been me running a mile a minute while everybody else is taking it slow. Anyway, I needed some chairs for my kitchen table. Mine old chairs were held together with duck table. I kid you not anyway the chairs in  the stores were to expensive they wanted $100 bucks a piece for kitchen table chairs. I passed on that. So with the nice weather cam the yard sales and I lucked up and got the kitchen chairs that originally came with the table I already have for $40 bucks for 2 chairs. That was a win in my. Speaking of patience, I needed to buy a weedwhacker mine broke. Instead of waiting to get one at the yard sales I went to Lowe's and purchase one for $70 bucks and I seen  the exact same one the women at the yard sale was selling for $20 bucks. See that's when you need patience for the things you might need and even for your wants.

The weather is getting nice time to start back walking in the park again beside  I need to lose some weight. Walking with good music makes me feel better and I get the benefits of relaxing my mind and thinking about the things I need to do for the next couple of days. So if you haven't already try walking.

Happy May

  Hello all well here's the story for May so far. I keep canceling my trip to Atlantic city that I was looking forward to. First it was the wrong time now this time I have to cancel is because I have a feet problem that needs a doctor. I think the universe is telling me to stay the heck out of Atlantic City for a while. With the warm weather coming in it's time to start doing work on my rental home so that I can put it back on the market for Dec of this year. I really need to sell this place I've had it for over 20 years and it's time to let it go. Anyway, I need to do some painting and washing the floors to make it look pretty when I relist it again. 

So far things have been pretty quiet. Oh, yea Moderna is a diabetic medication that the doctor put me on because I am a diabetic. Can I say it's almost like it was an illegal drug that's just how hard it is to get it. First the pharmacy runs out of it. Then they put the drug on hold because of the price of it, then they tell you have to get a three-month supply and not a one-month supply. I hate dealing with drug companies they are the worst. If it was up to the drug companies, you would die before they give you a break on any of the medication you would need to live. ( just my opinion)

  Hello all well here's the story for the week. I am too happy I got some good news this week, Which I will share with you after it's a done deal. Also, I had to go in for a lot of medical tests this week. I feel like a stuff pig after all the test I had to take. But if it's to keep me healthy and alive then poke on. I went by my second home this week to do yard work needless to say I have to buy a new weedwhacker to do the front yard. Since mine broke it was a Sears special cost me $60 bucks. When I looked to see how much a weedwhacker cost now it's $150 bucks. I missed Sears for just that reason cheaper stuff to buy (sometimes). Well still talking about My rental house the for-sale sign from the real estate agency is still up. I told my real estate guy twice to remove it and he hasn't by Monday of next week. I will call and remind him again if it's not moved then I will remove it myself. Since the rental home is off the market for now.

Other than that, I am planning few vacations one's a cruise and the other is to go gambling. I am not too excited about either one, but I need to get away for a while. I will let you know what's happening with both vacations. So how has your week been so far?

Darn Uncle

  Hello all happy April. Well, here's the news so far. I hate my Uncle Sam. I don't even believe he's my real uncle. Here's why tax season his here and guess what? I had to pay the government a lot of money along with the state. You could say I cried when I had to write that tax check.  I used to get money back but not anymore. I hope your tax filing was better than my own.

I think I told you, but I had to take my house off the market again for a few months. Again because of taxes My d**n Uncle would take a bit out of my A** if I would sell the house right now. So, I have to wait a bit longer to put it back on the market. I swear this Uncle of mine is a greedy pig always wanting my money when I am struggling to keep it for myself.

The spring is here and I am so grateful that in New York we didn't get snow like we usually do. I hate to shovel but I like show. Go figure. This spring there's a lot to be done around the house painting, removal of trees and things like that. You can call it spring work. So, what going on with you anything good?

Darn You Uncle Sam

  Hello all well here's the story for the week. I did my taxes and my account said that I have to take my rental house off the market for a while because If I didn't the taxes, I have to pay would be around $100,000 to uncle sam. That's crazy right. I don't think my hand would allow me to write check that big to the government. Needless to say, I still have to pay taxes on money that we made this year which sucks. But at least it's not 100,000. Anyway, with all the number and realization that our account did for us I have to now wait to collect my social security because again that will go against income for me which will be taxed. Can I tell you how much I hate paying taxes.

It's springtime and I am grateful that we didn't get much snow in New York this year thank god and with the warm weather means I can start doing house repairs and walking in the park which I like. Planning a trip to Atlantic city in the near future to gamble, see the water which I miss and visit family. I look forward to getting away when it's warm. Oh, did I mention when I told my real-estate guy that I was taking the house off the market he assumed that when I put it back on he was getting the listing. I didn't say anything to him. We will see who get's it. Since it will be back on the market in November of this year.

Random Thoughts

  Hello all well here's what been going on for the last couple of days. First, I went to check on my rental house which I am trying desperately to sell. Did I tell you how expensive my medical bills are? Well, that's another story for another time. Anyway, I went to check on my rental home like I always do come to find out the real estate agent was there when I walked into the house. He called out to me from the bathroom which he was using at the time. He had the bathroom door open while he was using it. Talk about awkward a situation. He said he was expecting a client to come by any minute. Still if you're using the bathroom you don't leave the door open while using it. At least I don't anyway. Do you? Needless to say, in two weeks he's fired. I just hate to think about going back to interviewing people to sell my house but sometimes you have to do things you don't like to get the job done right!

Another thing is that I use to love to go to Atlantic City for a quick weekend break now not so much. I am trying to find things that would interest me. But I'm on so many medications that it has made me lose interest in the things I like to do. Needless to say, the person I am going with I am not thrilled with . So that's another factor. As far as everything else it's pretty quiet around here. 

Oh, yea did I mention that I have a heart defibulator which motors my heart rate and every time I do something if my heart races I get a call from the monitoring company asking me what I am doing to make my heart race. Heck if I know. I think they want me to keep a diary of my daily activities. So they will know what to tell me to stop doing. That's one of the reasons. I need the money from the sale of my second home this heart monitoring system is darn expensive!

Story for 2024

 Hello all well here's the story so far. I think I'll pass on dealing with my real estate agent that I have again in the future. He's not doing his job and here's why I say this. I usually check on my vacant house once a week to see what's going on. When I walked into the house it was cold in there. So, I checked my old heating system and the pilot light had blown out. God knows how long it was out making the house cold which in returned started the basement walls to crack because of the house being so cold . Now the real estate agent had been in the house before I had come to check the house myself. You would have thought he would have called me to say the house was too cold and for me to come and check it. He didn't say anything about the cold house. When he did mention it  I had taken care of the problem. The real estate agent is falling by the waist side way too much for my liking. He's fired come Feb 1th. I need somebody else.

You tell me how I get an energy bill on an empty house. I am paying the same amount of money if I was still living there. Why is that. If anything, my energy bill should be $50 bucks not $250 bucks for what!, Another reason I can't wait to sell the house less bills on me. Since the start of the year, I have had no real desire to go anywhere or do anything special. Like I use to go gambling in Atlantic City or take a quick cruise somewhere. All I do now is read books and try to find ways to make money.  What kind of life is that. Anybody know?

Dropping The Ball

 Hello all well here's the story for the week so far. My real estate agent dropped the ball again. I mean I started getting call to my house at 7 in the morning this week. I was mad that somebody had the nerve to call me that early. Anyway, it was a real estate agent talking about my house that I was trying to sell is off the MLS listing and if I was interested in selling it. After that call I got about 20 more throughout the day about my house for sale and how so many agents wanted to list it. When the agent I was dealing with called me he said he forgot to relist my house back on the MLS site. He was sorry about that. I tell you I am firing his ass come Feb 1th. He had the listing for over 8 months and still no offers I want. And there is to many hungry real estate agents out here that will get me my price.

One of the real estate agents that wants to list my rental house had the nerve to come and ring my doorbell where I live stating he wanted the listing. To me that was a lot of nerve ringing a person doorbell about a house. What do you think? Anyway, everything else is pretty calm beside it starting to get cold in New York I mean bitter cold. Hopefully some money that is due me for over 8 years now will be coming this year . I'll tell you all about that later.

Ripp Off

 

Hello all well here's the story so far for the New Year 2024. Can we all say Rip Off. I had a taste for a whopper and I went to burger king. I usually get cheese with my whopper but now they are charging you $2 extra for a slice of cheese. I told them forget it. I ordered the regular whopper which tasted nasty, and it cost $8 a whopper from the normal $5. This year I am staying away from fast food it's too expensive and nasty tasting.

My real estate agent the one I told you about well I am keeping him until the winter months are over. I don't feel like looking for a new agent in the wintertime but come the spring if my second house has not sold then he will be fired. I don't need to keep a house on the market for three years with less then 5 offers way under the price I wanted. I need a hungry real estate agent and the one I have is not hungry enough for me anyway.

I didn't make any new year resolutions they are too easy for me to break. So, what I plan on doing is just getting my financial ducks in a row and trying to make myself happy with the things I like to do.  Pray everyday that I wake up because I have some medical issues that you would not believe. I am grateful for being here and able to get help for anything that hurts me.
