Love my neighbors

  Hello all well here's the story for the week. In New York it's cold outside. Today is about 38 degrees. I love my neighbor because we share a love of stray cats. either she is feeding them or I am. We have about 5 of them in our backyards. I told my neighbor that I wanted to purchase 2 $30 dollar shelter homes for them for the winter. She build one instead. Made out of her outdoor furniture, plastic coverings and wood. It's nice  I don't know how I got so attached to these strays but hey you just do. They are costing me $$ buying a big bag of  cat food for $15. 

 That darn CVS I had an appointment for a booster shot today. So why did they cancel on me. Needless to say I made the appointment a week ago. Now I have to make another appt for a booster. Hopefully they will keep the second one. 

Not to much to tell beside crazy food prices at the supermarket. This holiday it's Turkey parts that were on sale 2 weeks ago. I got a pack of turkey wings for $5. That works for me with some inexpensive side dishes and my sweet potato pie. What more do I need?

Cutting Back

  Hello all well here's the story for the week. Cutting back. I am trying to find ways to cut back on everything. Since heating oil is going up it now cost me $4.50 a gallon to fill my oil tank. Which is about $600-700 every 2-3 months depending on how much oil I use to heat my house with. I hate oil I am a gas girl myself. Cheaper and cleaner. So far when food shopping I am only buying what's on sale. No new clothing or shoes don't really need it. Trying to sell a 1989 van and my childhood home. These could take a while to  sale.

I use to do flea markets ,yard sales and I was a toy freak. I have so many toys that I am trying to sell. I will be using that money that I get from selling for two things. One is my next year's big birthday vacations and two is just in case money.  I am getting rid of  everything I can get my hands on. I can't stand a lot of mess and junk laying around so either I sell it donate it or throw it out.  As long as I get rid of it I don't care how it goes.

I am also trying to find surveys, sweepstakes, giveaways anything that will help me not to take any money out of my pocket. My friends goes to Atlantic city once a week on the bus. She pays $20 for the ride they give her $15 back in food & play money.  Which makes her tip cost $5 one way. She gets free rooms and somethings gambling money from the casino. She just goes to get the free gifts the casinos offers. While spending very little to get there and gamble. It's about a 2 1/2 to 3 hour  drive to Atlantic city from her house.  She brings her own food & drink.  Now this is the way to cut back and enjoy a vacation.

Con Edison Really???

  Hello all well here's the story for the week. I received a letter from Con Edison. Which is my light & gas company for my area. I live in New York so I use Con Ed. Anyway they sent me this letter stating that if I do not get their smart meters installed they will be charging me an extra $100 on my bill each month. That sounds like a treating letter to me. What do you think?  It's not like I don't pay Con Edison enough money as is. My monthly energy bill runs  about $200-220 a month. So I would say they are getting a pretty penny from me each month. 

So I called the company that's installing these new meters. They came  and install them. Mind you I had to get up at 5am so that I could make sure I was at my rental home  by 8am. I had a 8-12pm appt.

Now that these new meters are installed  my bill needs to be lower. Bet it's going to be higher. Watch and see.

On another note; Thanksgiving is around the corner trying to plan my menu. It will be simple. Turkey legs or wings, salad, sweet potato, corn bread and jello with fruit. So what's your plan for  Thanksgiving?

Cover Charge

  Hello all well here's the story for the week.  Am I the only one that needs to pay a cover charge just to shop in the grocery story anymore? I mean you go into the grocery story like it's a club the food is to expensive like the drinks are in a club. To many people pushing and shoving you over to get to the sales items. Like a club  people always wanting to be seen. When you want to leave the club also know as the supermarket with a few token gifts ( which is  food for the week) you are charged $100 or more just to leave. I could be  wrong about this.  What do you think?  

 I got my flu shot this week. Let me tell you about that. First I made an appointment to get it done at a Walgreens drug store near me. My appointment was for 3p.m. on Wednesday. I had another appointment that same day and it was in the area that I was going to get my flu shot.  So I decided to stop Walgreens  to see if I could get the  flu shot earlier. The employees in that Walgreen put up such a stink I  canceled my appt and left.  I  when to  a Rite-Aid pharmacy by me got my flu shot  in 5 minutes of walking in. Minus the hassle and the stink attitude.  Now I just have to get the other shot and I am good..

Cooking

  Hello all well here's the story for the week. First I am a bad cook. I had to go to a youtube video just to find out how to make brown rice. Sad right? Anyway so far so good.  I went to a doctor last week before he came into see me. I heard his boss telling him off. The doctor did something wrong and his boss was not happy and he was telling the whole office about it by yelling.

So you know when the doctor came into see me he had a attitude  I don't deal in attitudes. So I told him to go back outside and let's try this  again. I am paying to much money for your services  for you to  give me  attitude. What is with doctor these days. This is not the first doctor that I  dealt with that was unprofessional.

Also I think murphy is gone. Meaning what could go wrong will that's Murphy. So far things have calmed down. I have paid a small fortune in repairs where I live and on my rental. But these were repairs that were needed or else I would not be spending the kind of money I spent.

  Hopefully November will be better. So that's my story what do you think?

Wrong Week

  Hello all well here's the story so far. Murphy came to visit and I think he is still here. First I had a nail in my tire so I had to get that fixed. Thankful that the mechanic did not charge me for it. Went to turn on the oven to cook something  it's not working. So I have to get that fixed. My washing machine and dryer are  not working because of the flood in my rental. Thinking about getting that fixed. I am not even going into the medical problems that are coming up with me and my partner. That will take way to long.  Murphy is here anything that can will go wrong. I am praying for  Murphy to leave my life  today and every day going forward.  

Trying to sell  a van and house ain't easy.  That Van is  a 1984 Econline Van that has seen better day. We used it to do flea markets but that was a long time ago. Now we just want to sell it . It's been sitting in our driveway for far to long. Most of the people we talk to say that either the van is to old or that nobody is spending money right now. We only want $1500 for the van the price we paid to repair it. That's fair right?

Well that's the story for the week. It's about me spending a lot of money for repairs.

Running A Business

 Hello all well here's the story for the week. Not working or being retired is like running your own business. Here's why I say that. This week alone I had to call my insurance man to add more insurance on my home, call my doctors for appts and test to be taken, call  the medical insurance company because they are changing over. It's so much to do and it's crazy at times. It's like running a business you have to make sure that your company which is you are getting all the right things that you need in order to live the lifestyle that you want.

I think this month and last month was the month of doctors and test. It was crazy I have gotten to the point that I see so many doctors for  different things.  Taking off my clothes is second nature to me. Even if someone see me  butt naked  I don't care anymore. I just want to get healthy. Does that make sense to you? Guess I am just getting tired of living my life when it's all about the medical.

Side Note this is some good and very high in calorie Ice cream. Just wanted to let you know.
