Crazy

 Hello all well here's the story for this week. I  almost  lost my mind when I got a hospital bill that said $238,569.42 No lie. I had to do a double and triple take on the bill. My partner had surgery and the hospital bill came in for his one night stay. Mind you this is not the doctors' bill that's separate. 

I lost my mind but thank god his insurance paid the bulk of it . So we only had to pay $300. Because if I had to pay all of that bill. First think I was calling the hospital  to see how much they can lowered this bill to. Then I was going on a payment plan. which I would be paying this bill for the rest of my life . Really.

It is so important that you have medical coverage. In New York medical care is crazy expensive and my heart does out to the uninsured people who need medical attention with out insurance. I feel that we need universal medical care for all. People should not be dying because they can't afford medical coverage. That's crazy just like the hospital bill we got!

Cleaning

 Hello all well here's the story for the week. I am tired as all heck. I spent 2 solid days cleaning out my rental property.. I realized that cleaning is hard work. My hats go off to the women who do it everyday. I am talking that deep get in the corners and all cleaning. It's finished now comes the hard part.

Do I decide to rent my home for another year getting $2300 for the rent . The renters will pay for the gas. I will pay the property taxes and water bills. Or do I sell the house make a nice profit and run. I am sitting on the fence right now about that. Half of me just wants to sell it and take the money. The other half says no rent it for another year. Will let you know what I decide.

Returns I have purchased so much stuff from Home Depot  for my rental repairs. That I will be returning  a lot of stuff  back to them for a credit on my credit card. I  did not need as much stuff as I thought. I glad for that. 

Con Edison is offering rebated for energy saving appliances. I purchased a refrigerator which I hope to get $40 back on and a air conditioners  which I hope to get $25 back on. 

At this point anything I can get back I am grateful.

Warning

 

Hello all well here's this week story. Warning, Warning be careful when you buy trip insurance and I will tell you why. When I cruise I make sure to buy the trip insurance which cost me $235 extra. But for a peace of mind I am ok with that. The insurance is suppose to cover  any expenses that you have medical or trip cancellation for any reason. 

I canceled my cruise this month because of medical . The cruise cost $3500.00 for two people the cruise is giving me back $1700.00 Which leaves $1800.00 that the  insurance company was suppose to refund me. I filled out all the required insurance company papers. Even got a doctors note of why I canceled my trip and you know what happened right?  

The insurance company told me they denied my claim because of a pre-existing medical condition my partners has.  We canceled because my partner needed surgery which could not be put off. Really??? You know I am fighting this out with them right now. If I payed them the money to cover me then that's what they should do by refunded my money. They told me to contact my cruise they will give me some money back. I already know that!

Beware of cruise insurance they will rip you off! That's my story what do you think?

 

I Hate It !!!!

 

Hello all well here's the story  for the week. I hate going to the Home Depot by me. It's hot in there  and the employees are   always hiding when you need help. I had to make a few purchased in home depot this week. I had to purchase to bathroom vanities  they had them on sale for $50 bucks each. Which I needed to replace the two my rental tenant destroyed.  

So I when into Home Depot last week purchased the vanities and told them to hold them until this week. Went  to get the vanities today and guess what? They could not find them. Really??? It took them 1 hours to find my vanities and then one of their  employees  got an attitude  when  I ask for help to place them in my van.  The  employee said out loud "they don't pay me enough for this". All I could say was Really!! All this time the company had me waiting for my paid for stuff and now I get attitude.

I hate that store and I will be purchasing my stuff from Lowe's in the future.  Their customer service is way better then Home Depots. To me that is.

Don't Sleep

 

Hello all well here's the story for the week. Don't sleep on yard sales especially when you have things you need and retail prices are not getting it. Remember when I told you about my rental home. Well I needed something for it that the last tenant destroyed like window blinds, bathroom rugs.  Material to do minor repairs with. Well I got a few things at  yard sales for cheap compared to retail stores.   

I am trying to stay within a budget for my rental property  repairs. Since now I have to buy another refrigerator for my rental property. Did I mention I purchased one 6 years ago brand new.  Now I need another one. Which will cost me about $500 buck! I hate that they do not make things to last like they use to.  So that's why whatever  other things I might need If I can get  it cheap I will.

Besides that I got a letter in the mail saying that I could get the annuity from my old job before I get to be 65. I had to mail in some forms  I should be getting a check in a couple of weeks minus the taxes. I could use it. The annuity started out with $500 courtesy of our union and in 20 years it 's now $1000. I could have made more then that if they had given me the $500 back when they put the money in the annuity.  But I am grateful for it. It was money that  was given because the union screwed up. I will use it toward a cd to see if I can  get a better return on my money then the union did in the 20 years it had the money,

Not Me!

Hello all well here's the story for the week.. My partner had surgery this past Monday. I stayed in the hospital for about 10 hours. Thank god everything went well. After all was said and done I took him home on that Tuesday. Now I am playing nurse maid. I realize that it's not in my nature to care for people in this way. I will help you but I do have my limits. I know it sounds selfish. Maybe I am but caring for somebody who are  so needed is not in me to do.

I realize that I am not that person. I also realize that I have no patience for anybody or anything as I get older.Everything seems to get on my nerves nowadays. I blame it on all the medication I take but really it's just my personality.

 There is so much to do like clean my rental home, get a repairman to fix the problem in it, fix the refrigerator that now seem to be broke, deal with the last tenant , take care of my sick partner and deal with other financial matters all of this makes me want to scream.

But I keep remembering the saying that god does not give you more then you can handle. I guess he feels I an handle all of this I will let you know how I goes

Settled Down

Hello all well here's the story for the week. I am tired!! I went over the damage that was done to my rental and it's not to bad ( not like the picture above) In my rental yes things need to be cleaned, I do need a handyman for repairs and I might need a new  refrigerator if I can't repair the one in there  already. But overall if the cost comes out to less then $4000,00 I am happy.

I have a contractor who says he will do all the repairs plus the painting for $3500. This is with materials included. I will be billing the tenant for this plus her back rent. Here's the crazy part after the drama with the tenant , her daughter and the repair person the tenant come over with to fix the things she broke in the house  last Saturday. I almost had to call the cops  on the daughter and their so called fix it man.  They  threaten to sue me  by call housing court, their lawyers  the whole nine me . I am done with the tenant and her family.

The tenant had the never to call my house Saturday night  after all the drama saying that she knows another person who could do all the repairs that I needed in the house done. I gave her a chance and she messed it up , now I am fixing the house my way and billing her for it.

So much drama  so much work to be done , that's my story what do you think?
