Is it Worth It???

I attended a Women's event this past Saturday. Me and my friend set up a table that showcases our services. Mine was The Cheap Cheetah Money Show (Blogtalkradio.com/Cheap-Cheetah).  Hers was Access To Arising Artist.(Blogtalkradio.com/AccesstoArisingArtistshow) The table was paid for by my friend. It was a good event there were a lot of  non-profit organizations there that offered information on  domestic violence, obamacare, housing, legal  insurance, foster care, just to name a few. the reason I say was it worth it to go is that I spent $35 on transportation, food and misc to be there. I came out getting to know some new people and letting people know about my business. So to answer my own question was this event worth me spending $35 dollars just to be there? I say  yes!

Eating is not Cheap!

I was looking over my credit card bill yesterday and I happen to count the number of times and cost of our grocery shopping. It came out to 8 times shopping at a cost of $465 for two people. I said to myself who eats that much food in a month? What I realized was that most of the food that we spent money on consisted of meats. Which as we all know can be expensive. I purchased two corn beefs on sale at $14.98 and $19.75. if they were not on sale the regular price would have been $23.98 & $25.99. I can not believe still that two people eat that much in food. I told my partner that we have to count back on our grocery shopping and our spending on unnecessary items in the grocery store. Let me ask you do you spend that much on food? On to other news  I had to close my ING or shall I say Capitol One360 saving account it had $44 dollars in it and I found myself not using it so I closed it and had them send me a check. What  am I going to do with this $44 is yet to be determined. I will let you know. Also I spent $20 on you guessed it Lotto tickets yesterday. Hey I still feel you have to be in it to win it. So what do you think?

Half ???

Hello everyone. How are you doing today. Me not so good here's the story. I have a place that I am renting out. I rented to a family 2 years ago. They rented my place for 1 year and at the end of the year things were not working out so we parted. Before they gave up the keys to my place we did a work through and they were aware that the $2000.00 security deposit would not be returned to them because of all the damages they did to my home. Long story short the family took me to court for the return of their security deposit and today was court day. The out come was that I keep  $1000. for the damages and they get $1000.00 back. Did I tell you New York is a tenant state and if the tenants cry to hard they win in court. It's true. Well today I lost money which I am not happy about but the good thing is it's over and I will not have to see this family again. And the other good part is that I have rented the place out already to another family hopefully better then this one.

Time To Do A Dance

I am happy today for a few reason which I will share with you. First I got up this morning and decided to clean my office. I got rid of so much junk and I also found stuff I could sell in my Bonanza booth to try and make money from. Then I got a very happy dance surprise I received my bonus and back pay that the city owed me. You see I left city service after our contract was signed and they owed us back money for the last 4 years and a bonus for 2015. I received all the back money that they owed me plus the bonus grand total $1450. This money is going right into my account for me to live on and I am putting about $200 toward my retirement IRA that I have with T. Rowe. So yes I am doing a happy dance today for both my clean up project and my owed back money! So what do you think??/

Is It Worth It?

Is it worth it to return bottles anymore?. The reason I ask is that I had 2 bags  of plastic bottles that I wanted to return for the money of course. Well this is how that went. We get to the plastic bottle return station and of course it's full with people who have shopping carts full of plastic bottle, cans and glass. For my money I will wait. Hey 5 cents is 5 cents and I figure I had at least $5 worth of  returns which I could use. After waiting  for about 15 minutes we get to use the machine that takes plastic bottles after 10 minutes the machines stops running. We thought the machine was broke but a guy behind us tells us that you just need to open the machine up and shake it. He comes over and does just that to our machine and when the machine started to work again he takes his plastic bottles and starts putting them in to the machine. Like we were not just standing there using it before it broke down. My partner got mad and wanted to say to hell with it and leave  but I told him let's just wait until he finished.  When we finished depositing all of our plastic bottles our  total  came to  $1.65. All of that frustration and aggravation for less then $2. Really?  So my question to you is bottle return really worth it?? On to some good news.... I won $14 in lottery scratch off tickets today so that will give me a boost in my $2 challenge. So what do you think???

More Snow!!!

I guess New York pissed mother nature off  like Boston, because we are getting more snow and did I mention I just shoved yesterday and the day before that and well you get the picture. I am counting the springtime days. So what is going on well I will tell you.Did you know that there is no such thing as free checking anymore? At least not at the banks that I have went to. They now want to charge you $2 or more per month for the privilege of having a checking account with them. When did that happen?? Also what do you think about the new design for the tee shirt. I like them and they look good on. So what do you think??

Really???

                                                                                                                    Image result for happy march
Happy March Everybody! Well today we had snow and guess what it was about 40 degrees out. So I am out shoveling the snow singing summertime summertime, because I can not wait for ...summertime. But that's not what I wanted to talk to you about. I received the papers to take the money out of my old unions(DC37) annuity that they had for us workers and  put the money into an IRA account . I was going with a bank's IRA/Cd type of account since it's only about $900 that I should  get. Well here is the thing, when I read over the rollover papers for this money. The papers consisted of 3 parts that had to be filled out , first part is the basic stuff like  where you live and your full name, social security number. The second part is about your employment with the city the when , who, where and how. This all has to filled out by the city's personnel department. So my question is why send it to me if I do not need to fill it out? I did attach a letter from personnel of the date I left the city.. Third Part they  want the roll over documents notarized and  the   name and account information of  the place  that your putting the money  into as well as an  the places official  stamp.  I am saying that's alot  the  union is requesting  for a measly $900 bucks. Which by the way they owed us that and much more, since they stole a lot of money from the workers throughout the years. My point is that   why must these  companies require you to jump through hoops for your money?. I expect the next time I go somewhere and ask for My money they are going to require me to produce  my mothers blood type and  my grandmothers in order to get my own  damn money, and they all say the same thing it's for your  own safety  that we ask these questions. I bet! I just don't get it?? What do you think?
