Hello All well here's the story for the week....

Bathroom rugs who knew that they were so expensive. I needed a new bathroom rug since mine is about 20 years old. Bed, Bath and Beyond I went I could not believe  they were selling bathroom rugs at $59.99 and up. Really????  Who spends that much money on something that they will step on. Needless to say I am still search for  a cheap bathroom rug.

I  had my repair  guy come over and fix  the roof on my rental. He charged me about $350. Down from the $450 he quoted me earlier. He then told me that the roof on my rental  needed to be  silver coated. I had paid a guy before him to do it. The job was not done. I was mad that now  I have to pay twice  for a job that should have been done the first time. I told the repair man to send me a estimate and I will get it done in the springtime.

With March coming I am trying to clear the junk from my house and get ready for vacation. I need a get away. Will keep you posted on how March works out for me.

Collections!!

 Hello all well here's my story for the week...

Collections are nice to do but a B***H to get rid of. Here's some example of what I am talking about.  For the last 5 years I have been collecting vintage Barbie dolls. I wanted my childhood back. Well really my old Barbie's so I started collecting them. Needless to say I have over 200 vintage dolls, doll cases etc.  Here's the kicker part when I  try and sell my  Barbie's  so that I can use the money for other things. Nobody wants  to pay the price that I want for them. I was going to donate  them but I need the money more. So I have to wait. I have seen where a women was selling her Barbie collection at our local flea market and she to told me she was having a hard time selling them for the price she wanted. So what she did was lower her price to rock bottom and they sold. She took a loss on the Barbie's of course.

Here's another example of where collecting sucks. My partner has collected coins most of his life. So when we went to do inventory on them we realized they had to go. It was way to much. But when we investigated where to sell them. We found not to many coin dealers in the state that we live in and also it's hard to get rid of coins nowadays. The coin dealer we talked to told us that nobody is buying coins and since nobody is buying coins it's hard to sell them for good prices. So we are now trying to figure out what to do with boxes and boxes of coins. 

This is why collections in my opinion suck.

Ripped Off!!!

Hello all  well here's the story for the week. I hate when someone tries to get over on me. This is what I am talking about. I found a handyman for my rental home. He's an ok guy and I needed him to do some roofing work on my house. He first quoted me $350. I told him in a couple of weeks I will get it done. Then when I speak to him again he quotes me $450 for the job. Wait a minute last time we talked you said $350. this is where I get into the attitude that you know how many handy men are around to do the job cheaper? I talked him down to the lesser price because I am paying him cash. I hate when someone tries to get over on me.

I am normally a nice person but owing real-estate even one house can be a pain in the A**. I want to sell it and be done with it. My partner wants to keep it because it's income coming it. But  living in New York the property tax is crazy. I use to pay $3000. for the year now it's more like closer to $5000. nothing has changed about the property except the bills keep going up. It's crazy . Now I understand why people get the heck out of New York it's to expensive to live here anymore.

Paperwork

 Hello All Happy Tuesday

Well here's the story so far. I am drowning in paperwork. I have started throwing out all the paperwork that I and my partner have saved since the 70's. That's right he has paperwork from the 70's that is really not needed anymore. So out it goes. I need to organize and get rid of junk for 2019. That's one of my goals.

Also let me tell  how Princess Cruise's tricked me.

 The story goes like this I got a coupon in the mail that states princess cruises would give me 25% off my cruise , $25 in casino credit, free specialty dinning and up to $900 in onboard credit.

Well since I am going on a cruise next year I jumped on this offer. Come to find out that the only think I can get was the 25% off my cruise which did help a lot with the price. But since I was already getting  free specialty dinning and $600 on board credit with my original package I could not get the offer from the promotion that they sent. Also the $25 dollar casino credit has to be within 6 months of sailing. I am sailing next year. So that was a lost.

You see how these ships get your money. They promise you everything then when you call about it they tell you a crazy reason why you can't get it.

I love cruising I had the promises.
