Did You Know This???

Hello all well here's the story for the week. Did you know this? What I mean to say is that I got a letter from one of my banks stating that my account  was dormant and that they would be sending it to the sate if I didn't come and make a deposit into that account. Mind you I been having direct deposit go in that account for years. It wasn't on the regular but it was every few months. That's wasn't a problem until  recently. So you know I was pissed. I got the latter on Friday by Tuesday when I went to the bank the teller told me my account was in the dormant office in  the bank. I still could deposit money into it but couldn't use the account for 2 days . Because they  had to  retrieved my account  from that office. She also stated if I had another day the account would have went to the state's unclaimed funds department. I told her that my account had  direct deposit in it for the year she stated it didn't count they needed to see a live person come in and put money into the account. What's that about . I know normally I put money in to all my account once a year because it use to be that bank account go dormant after 7  years now it's after 2 years.

The last thing I need to do is give the sate my couple dollars like they really need it. So beware. Check you bank accounts especially if you don't put money into on the regular. At least make sure every year you put a dollar in all your accounts. That will at least keep the state form getting ahold of your money for two years. This is a New York situation not sure how other states work, but  you can ask your bank. Oh you do get a letter from the bank before they send your hard earned money to the state but how much time they  give you to come in and put money on your account is questionable..

That's my story what do you think?

Funerals Are Stressful...

Hello Family well here's the story for the week Funerals are stressful. Let me tell you why I say that. A close relative had passed away. His wife was unable to  make his funeral arrangements. So I stepped into do it.  It was not only stressful but crazy to. Who knew that going to the funeral home and going over arraignments takes so long. It's a process that  was new to me. After everything was said and done it cost over $ 12,900. and took 3 hours  to do. My relative that passed served in the military, so the government gave him and his wife a free burial plot.  Which was a plus. It  saved the wife  a lot of money. Because the burial plots that the wife wanted cost 10,000 for two people. Did you know that funerals cost that much? Anyway after  everything was taken care of. I not only was tired but got a wake-up call...

First make sure that you have money for funerals since they can run you about 15,000 or more. Also make sure that you have wills in place for what you want people to have. Did I mention that people were already coming out of the woodwork. To see what they could get from my relatives death and he's not even cold in the ground yet.  Also remember that if you depend on someone's income and they pass suddenly Then what? Where are your financed coming from to live on? So many things to think about. I told you it was crazy and stressful but a lesson learned  nevertheless.

So that's my story what do you think?
