Expensive

  Hi there well here's the story for the week. It was expensive. First Monday I had to pay $140 to get my teeth cleaned. My insurance pays for 3 dentists visit and I have to pay for the fourth. Tuesday was a doctor's appointment. The doctor's office claimed that I owed them $9000 for services back from September of 2022. We talked about it and I just ended paying $70.00 for the visit plus a co pay of $140.00. I also had to get a new stove which cost me $1300 to install and take my old broke stove away. See I told you it was an expensive week this week.

But the good part is I at least had the money to pay for these things. That's why I always preach emergency funds because you never know what kind of emergency your going to have. Always put extra money aside just in case this happens to you.

Well, that's the story for the week I hope next week is a cheap week for me.

Balance

  Hello all well here's the story for the week. I am back from vacation I went to Atlantic City to relax and gamble for a couple of days. I also went to visit family. I found out  that gambling is not what it's cracked up to be meaning that I lost my money ( LOL). Also is there really a thing called life balance. I am trying to still save money and enjoy my life at the same time. Is that possible?

I love going on vacations but at what price. This trip to Atlantic City showed me that even a few days away can cost you a couple hundred dollars for room, food, transportation and fun stuff. I said to myself is it worth it to spend that kind of money when I have medical bills that need my attention?

Vacation

  Hello all well here's the story for the week. It's Hot! Meaning the temp have been 80-90 degrees in New York. What happen to springtime? It's winter right into summer that's crazy. Still looking for a new stove. Most of the places that I have been to don't have the inventory right now. So, I am cooking food on top of the stove since the oven works but only on broil. Did I tell you about how expensive appliances are when did that happen? I remember I could get a stove for under $500. back in the day. Now I am lucky if I can get one under $1000.

I need a vacation. Last time I took one was about 3-4 years ago. I am going on a mini vacation soon to Atlantic City. I know it's not much but at this point just getting way and being by the water is good enough for me. It used to be cheap to stay in Atlantic City not anymore. Resort fees are $30 bucks plus taxes. They hold $150.00 on your credit card just in case you mess up their rooms. They don't have housekeeping too much. The hotel gives you a choice $20 in gambling credit or housekeeping. You choose. It's not like the old Atlantic City where you got free rooms, food and play money plus a show all for under $100 bucks.

Did I mention where I live it will cost about $100 in gas and tolls one way to get down to Atlantic City. Thank god I am visiting family as well when I go down.

New York Rips You Off

 Hello all well here's the story for the week. Stay away from New York!! They are getting crazy and I will tell you why. I needed to replace my old gas stove with a new one. I went to Lowe's and Best Buy looking for stoves. Lowe's is cheaper they are selling stoves for around $500 compared to the thousands that I saw in other stores. Anyway, the salesperson in Lowe's told me that with gas stoves in New York they can deliver them, but you need a permit to get it installed. Say what Now??? That's the new rule you need a permit to have a gas stove in New York city and if you live in the outer broughs.  The permit you need cost a couple hundred dollars. Then you need a plumber to hook up your gas stove which is another couple of hundred dollars and finally the delivery charges. So, my $500 gas stove is now over $1,000, That's crazy!

What happen to buying a stove and having the delivery people install it.  Them days are gone. New York City has a racket going. Where now I have to get a permit for a gas stove. Now if I wanted an electric stove, I could get it delivered, hooked up without all the extras that I have to do to get a gas stove.

It's Crazy right. So that's My story What Do you think?

Uncle Sam Darn You!!!

  Hello all well here's the story so far. Uncle Sam and the State got me. I did my taxes yesterday and the account told me that since I made less last year. I only get to pay $4,000. Compared to the $10,000 I paid the year before. Really Uncle Sam. You know a Sista trying to buy other bills with that money. I used to love doing my taxes because I knew I was getting a tax return. Not so much now.

I did learn a lesson from my accountant. I told him about my house that I was putting on the market for sale. He broke down for me the taxes I would pay on the sale of the house. I was shocked. It's a lot. I would come out with some money but not as much as I thought. I have to sell it anyway. I am not going to be a landlord again I don't like it. Beside the second house is costing me money. So, I have to get rid of it.

         Happy Spring, I am so glad it's getting warmer now I can get out more and do things.

Contestants

Hello all well here's the news for the week. I have finally nailed it down to two real estate contestants. I will be calling them this week and hopefully my house will be up for sale by the end of the month. I need to sell it need the money for medical and Retirment. I told you about that.

Also let me tell you how sneaky some real-estate agents are. A guy called me and told me that he was a real estate agent and wanted to see the house. I made an appointment with him. When he showed up, he had his partner with him. Which was a real estate agent I had previously interviewed and did not care for. I guess she wants that house and wanted to have her partner pretend it was a first-time interview for their company so that I would agree to see him. And if I liked him. I would give his company the listing for the house. Sneaky right.

Right now, the springtime is calling my name. Winter is over and it's time for the dreaded house improvement chores. The ones that cost big bucks. Like getting my house's foundation fixed. New windows. new garage door. Might need a new stove to. I hate to spend money. But things are needed. So, what can you do?
