To Darn Expensive

 

Hello all well here's my story so far. I went to the mall yesterday and I saw where the Girl Scouts  had set up a table selling cookies. I love my thin mints so I picked up a box. It was mighty light. Felt like it had about 6 cookies in it. When the women told me $4 I almost gave her back the box of cookies. Is it me or is $4  kinda expensive for a small box of cookies? 

I am happy this week because I am finally working my butt off when it comes to mystery shopping. I was able to get 8 shops this week. Which will give me about $100 for the month. Which you think might be small but for me that's pretty good because remember I am not working so every little bit helps. Besides this money helps me with my dollar a day challenge, Yes I am still doing that.

Surprised bills. Yes I get them from time to time. I got a bill yesterday from my eye doctor who I had seen in Nov 2017. The bill was only $25 dollars thank god . That was just the portion that my medical insurance didn't pick up . Thank God for medical insurance.

Bakery Outlet & Worries

Hello All, Well here's the story for this week. First I had the nerve to go into an Entenmann's  discount bakery place. You know the place  where they sell all the breads and bakery products that were damaged in production but still good at a cheap price.  I usually go there to get my english muffins and bagels since you can get 3 for $4. Which is way cheaper then my supermarket. My partner went crazy yesterday when he pointed out that they had a sale of buy 8 cakes, cookies , donuts or mix for $8 that's $1 dollar each compared to $6 in the store. So what they might be damaged in a small way they still taste good going down and they are fresh.
So I gave in and purchased 8  boxes of bakery products and my 3 packages of bread all for $12. Did I mention I was a sweets junkie.

Worries , do you worry about not having enough money to retire, enjoy your life, not enough money for medical expenses etc. I worry all the time. Mostly about having enough money to live my life. when my partners is no longer in the picture. I have to figure out a way to live. Since we live on his pension & social security checks. I am to young to collect on my pension and social security right now. So I have to find a way to live on the money we have saved  if something were ever to happen to him. I am covered up to  3 years on his medical insurance after that  I have to get a job to keep my medical insurance from his company. I don't see how housewives use to do it depend on someone else for their livelihood. I have depended on someone for 4 years now and it's killing me. Since I am use to making my own money and doing my own thing.  So yes I worry and eat a lot of  cake.

Part-Time Job

Hello All, Well here's the story for the week. First I had a plumber come in to fix my radiator. Yes in my home I still have the old fashion one. It's cast iron to. Well he came in to fix it because it was making funny sounds. After he fixed it the bill is what made me scream. It cost me $250 just for him to come and put a small piece on  the radiator.  I could have purchased  that piece anywhere and much cheaper then $250. I even asked the plumber would he take $200 and he said no. So I had to cough up the $250 and I was mad about it. Plumbers are expensive.

Home Depot is hiring. I was in Home Depot yesterday and I saw this sign. I picked up a flier for their hiring information and went  on line to apply for a part-time job. After I did some research on what it was like to work there from fellow employees. I also saw  how much  they pay their part-times anywhere from $10.87-11.04 an hour. Depending on what position you have. I said I will pass. Why because most of the past part-time employees who use to work for Home Depot  stated that  you will only  get  between 16-20 hours a week. If I  work  16 hours a week at $10.72  an hour  my check would be $171.52 a week minus gas and lunch money, let's not forget good old uncle Sam. I would probably see about $80-90 a week if I am lucky.

I decided that it might not be worth it to stand on my feet all day and deal with rude and sometimes nasty customer and management. I did that before Hey I was a Case Worker for Welfare. Need I say more.  I now just have to figure out how to make my $80 dollars a week. Hey I would take $100 a months as long as I am making money.

No Vacation!!!

Hello All here's the story so far. Well I was suppose to go on a cruise in September to Quebec and a couple of other Canadian places. But NCL contacted me and said that the cruise was cancelled. They did give me a choice that I could use the deposit of $100 toward another cruise or I could get a refund. I got the refund. NCL was also giving you a $25 on board credit for your troubles. But that was being cheap only $25 on board credit why not $100. At least with $100 you could afford something on their overpriced ships.

I decided that maybe it was the best that we did not vacation this year. Our home needs works. I mean it needs a lot of repairs. I need my bathroom redone, new carpeting, new radiators and a bunch of other things. I also wanted to sell my car and just get my house and life in order.
So to do all of that it will take time. Beside that I could use my $100 deposit back to put toward my 2019 cruise to Hawaii.

So far for the first 2 weeks of 2018 it was not to good for me money wise. I did not make any so now I owe myself  $14 toward the dollar a day challenge. Finding coupons has also been hard. In New York there just aren't any good coupons.  So that's my story what do you think?

Bummer

Hello All, well here's my story for the first full week of 2018. I am bummed out  here are the reasons why.

My $1 a day challenge is not going so well. I made no money this week. But I did have a few no spend money days since it was to cold to go outside. But this is not the challenge that I was going for.

I tried doing surveys that state they will pay you to answer these questions. Yes you get paid like 2-4weeks from the day you complete the survey. By that time I won't even remember what I did let alone how much I did it for. So surveys in my book Suck!

Mystery Shopping seems to have dried up for the winter. The shops that I was counting on to do for the winter months are missing in actions. The shops boards of some of the companies I mystery shop board have nothing that I can do. So I am out getting money from that source for a while.

If you have not heard let me be the first to tell you I did not win Powerball or Mega Millions. I just knew I would be the winner of all those millions. So you know I am really bummed out about that.

My diet plan  fell through. I am a serious sweets junkies.  I see that now and I will have to fight with myself to stop my addiction to junk food and lose weight.  I am so upset with myself.  I never realized how serious my addiction to junk food was until now.
